PMR (Progressive Muscle Relaxation) is a Jacobson method that has been widely applied for 80 years and is included in the health systems of many countries. Jacobson found that stress or anxiety causes an unconscious muscle tension and that the mechanism of muscle tension develops in the opposite direction, ie, relaxation of the muscles causes a feeling of relaxation and calming, and better muscular blood circulation is achieved by reducing tension.

Progressive muscle relaxation is useful for removing chronic stress, headaches, and fear, and also improves the overall health of an individual.

When relaxing the muscles, it is essential to focus on the feeling of relaxation. The purpose of this method is to better acquaint yourself with your body and to master conscious muscle relaxation. When we learn to move ourselves quickly and easily into a relaxed state, each new exercise of relaxation exercise achieves ever better success with the ultimate goal of the ability to relax.
